We are very lucky to have some mature salmon around this year stocked by federal hatcheries. These fish are 5 to 8lbs on average and put up a heck of a fight! Rich was able to connect on the one pictured above that we hit down about 28' in the water column. This fish put up one hack of a fight and really wanted to stay deep only showing itself briefly before we were able to net it. It has been chilly lately and the fish are still relating to the surface but we have a little bit of stratification. These fish seem to like slightly warmer water than our typical sabago strain atlantics. We are looking forward to a good season of salmon fishing.
